John Osterhoudt is a Producer at Reason, who works behind and in front of the camera as a cinematographer, journalist, and editor.
John graduated from Ball State University with majors in directing theatre and video production. His experience in theatre allows him to use his technical skills to tell stories in a unique and powerful way.
He has interviewed a diverse set of high-profile people, such as David Letterman, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, Bitcoin programmer and podcaster Jimmy Song, and Kyle Mann, editor in chief of the satirical Babylon Bee.
John has appeared on podcasts like The Tom Woods Show, The Reason Roundtable, and Agorist Nexus.
His 2017 documentary Unmasked: The Stigma of Meth won an Indiana Society of Professional Journalism Award for Best In-Depth Television Reporting. His 2018 documentary From Normal to Extraordinary: Ball State's First Century won a Silver Cindy Award. His 2019 video about San Francisco zoning regulations was nominated for a Southern California Journalism Award.
He lives and works just outside of Louisville, KY.
